Gaetz’s Appearance At the Facility Still A Mystery to Prison Officials

The legendary R&B singer, R. Kelly, is languishing in jail awaiting trial in Chicago but he received some interesting attention this past week: Congressmen Matt Gaetz tried to visit him.

Though Gaetz entered the detention center where Kelly is being held under another name, he had to use his own I.D. to actually enter the facility so it has been verified.

“I Can Make The March And Make Georgia Howl…” — General William T. Sherman

Last time I was in Georgia, I stumbled upon a Black Hair show at a fancy downtown hotel in Atlanta. Atlanta was booming back then, as it is now. I was on my way to Louisiana and decided to lay over for a few days with my family.

It was a joy to see the hair show; I even ran into a few barbers I knew from D.C. and one hairstylist as well.

I had Fried Chicken and Waffles when I was there as well. Visited…

Have Injuries Re-opened the Field?

Image — Clutch Points

It was pretty clear about three weeks ago that Joel Embid was going to be the Most Valuable Player of the 2020–21 NBA season. He was having his best season to date as a professional.

Embiid is averaging 29.9 points per game, 11.5 rebounds, and is shooting 56 percent from the field including 42 percent from beyond the three point arc. His Sixers are in the hunt for a title and sit at the top of the Eastern Conference currently.

But Embiid recently hyperextended his knee in a whack game against the Washington Bullets (I mean Wizards — wow, I…

The early days of Trump’s rise foretold the hate and disorder to come with solid help from conservatives

The Nazi Germany invasion and takeover of France in 1940 has many parallels to America when it elected Donald Trump in 2016. According to Caroline Moorehead in her book, ‘A Train in Winter,’ when the Nazis took over the city many of the famous French intellectuals fled south to a free zone in France. Some Parisians stuck around and some had no choice as they were part of the establishment.

On the other hand, the far right, the conservatives, many of whom were also in fear as the Nazis approached, returned to the city, ready to accept the benefits and…

Defunding & Abolition Of Policing As We Know It, Is Not.

The Guardian

In one week, two Black males were shot to death before the public. Daunte Wright in Brooklyn Park, MN, and Adam Toledo, in Chicago.

Videos were quickly released of both shootings. Public outrage ensued, protests began, scattered ruckus, and once again the people were glued to their screens. Like it was all planned.

Like it is supposed to happen, and we, the people, were predictable like cattle being led to slaughter. We got mad. A lot of us tweeted, retweeted, liked, shared, and yet, nothing. There will be another killing soon.

The death of unarmed Black people at the hands…

The Senator Says He Is Surprised But Still Looking Forward

The filmmakers searched the globe it has been reported for an actor to play the role of Senator Jesse Helms (as an older man), in the biopic, “Senator No” but could find no one to fit the part or take it

After A Difficult Start, Denver Is Back in the Hunt

Clutch Points

The Denver Nuggets are on the rise in the NBA’s Western Conference, at last.

The real suprise here is it took them this long to finally get going. One of the surprise playoff teams last year, the Nuggets, many thought would be trouble this year again from the start.

However, the Nuggets struggled. They lost a couple of glue guys from last year and spark players (Jerami Grant for one) and they stumbled. Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic both were playing at All Star levels but after that, this group didn’t fuse like last year’s group.

Cade Walker of Mile…

Major League Baseball Made the Right Decision Moving Its All Star Game

This Day in Baseball

The MLB All Star Game 2021, thanks to the reliable racist bigots in Georgia, is now in Colorado. Coors Field. I laughed when I read it.

As most know, MLB moved the game when the Georgia GOP legislature, controlled by Republicans, and its Republican Governor, Brian Kemp enacted a racist voter ID law recently in a blatant effort to stop Black people from voting.

“I have decided that the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport is by relocating this year’s All-Star Game and MLB Draft,” wrote MLB Commissioner, Robert D. Manfred.

I spent a little time today…

A Ruling In A Federal Eviction Moratorium Case Hints At Trump’s Destruction

The Trump era will be destructive for awhile. Hold on.

Take a recent ruling in an Ohio case where a bunch of landlords, property managers, and housing developers sued to invalidate the CDC Moratorium on evictions.

The federal moratorium on evictions was sort of enacted by Trump but not really. He couldn’t give two cents if anyone got evicted.

Yet, there was a CDC moratorium put in place in September 2020 and it has been extended several times now, the last two by President Biden’s CDC.

But in Ohio recently, a federal judge, J. Phillip Calabrese, ruled that the CDC…

Do We Need To Have Exit Strategies, If…

If Donald Trump had won the election in November, I had a loosely configued plan to move to Canada.

I was gonna be like Quickskill in Ishmael Reed’s famous novel, Flight to Canada.

I even called a friend in Toronto and another in England and said — hey, so, how are things?

I had no choice really. If Trump had been re-elected, it would have been an endorsement of all the madness, hate, chaos, and sadistic conduct.

Not to mention children in cages, capital punishment, unchecked corporate pollution of the air and water, the American death spiral would have accelerated.
