A Black Book Summer Reading List
Here’s A Few That Will Get Me Through The Summer
No real big plans for summer. Relax. Stay safe. Get some salt air at the shore. Some BBQ or fried fish.
But, I have some books by Black writers that I plan to read.
First of all, I am way behind. I teach and write, and live, so I am catching up every day. Secondly, I can’t read it all but I will try to read as much as I can.
This summer, I also have some other books from non-Black writers too (and magazines such as Essence, London Review of Books, Sojourners, and The New Internationalist), but for now, I will just focus on some good Black books.
We are in our Covid-19 respite (if you are vaccinated, or well, and safe, cool), so, I highly recommend all of these tomes while we have a moment to catch up with Black lit.
And, please, please, please, order from a Black owned Bookstore. Support those Black booksellers (see a few at the bottom of this to link you up).
