Capital Punishment Is Wrong
State sanctioned killings cannot be justified
We should have been able to watch Marcellus Williams die last week. We, the public, pay for these killings; why can’t we watch?
I am opposed to the death penalty. However, if this country, via the states, insists upon keeping the killings going, televise them. Show the killings by the state on ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, Fox News, PBS, and CNN.
No more killings in the middle of the night, at some prison death chamber in the middle of nowhere, hidden away from the public. And not at midnight either. Prime time. Show the world and the country what we pay for. Don’t hide it. We let it happen because the condemned don’t exist to us.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit upheld the conviction of Dylann Roof back in 2021. Eventually, the case will reach the U.S. Supreme Court. Roof is the Charleston killer. He killed nine African Americans (human beings) while they worshipped in church. He is going to die.
