Dr. Anthony Fauci Finally Says — Enough Already !
Only in today’s America is a heroic public servant attacked for doing his job
Dr. Anthony Fauci, M.D., America’s doctor, is retiring soon.
He has been Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) since 1984 and is now also the Chief Medical Advisor to President Biden.
I remember Dr. Fauci first and foremost from the H.I.V. AIDS crisis that began in the mid 1980s. I was in college. Back then as he made his rounds on the television networks to try to inform the public about a new and deadly disease, Dr. Fauci was a voice of common sense and comfort at quite a difficult time.
Dr, Fauci was there from the beginning trying to understand a virus and a disease that was killing people globally. He did a pretty amazing job considering the hysteria, the bigotry, and the misinformation that was also prevalent during the early days of that crisis.
Ronald Reagan was President for one and Reagan didn’t even acknowledge a crisis or really care at first. Homophobia was everywhere.
Then the government received major pushback from AIDS activists to do more. The pushback helped greatly and Fauci also did a great job during the epidemic and continuously since that time.
