Twitter has always been mostly trash but…
Twitter is lit, as the young people say. Or, “off the chain,” as almost anyone might say. Elon Musk bought the social media rest stop and immediately invited the dregs of the world to come urinate in public or defecate (it is their choice it seems)
All of those illiterate zombies from “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) land are back in full bloom like poppy flowers. They are dishing out their special brand of hate, racism, and depraved human conduct in its raw form.
I have found it revealing and instructive. It also proves that banning bigots might make us feel better but it doesn’t mean they have changed. We live in a country that was founded “in words” based on righteous ideals.
Yet, in practice, America never followed those righteous ideals and so the citizenry kind of did what it wanted. Twitter under Musk proves that. There are authoritarians, racists, sexists, xenophobes, homophobes, and many other unsavory humans.
