Good conversation to have here. If you can list some books etc. people can check out. African people need to know this story. Europeans use it to try to absolve the evil of the Triangular Trade. African people need to study this one close and well. The Destruction of Black Civilization by Chancellor Williams is a pretty good book that talks about this. Capitalism and Slavery by Eric Williams is also damned good. I should also note that indentured servant systems and slave systems were fairly common but not the one the Europeans eventually created that was rooted in a racial caste system of race and the fact that you and your children were enslaved for life. That is where the evil takes on another dimension.
