Great piece of writing. I can say as a kid I heard the Hank Aaron home run call as Al Downing, pure ball player that he was, did not try to pitch around Hank. He went after him. I also saw the Gibson call. Did Skully call the now famous 1 hour inning against my Nats. I don’t remember. But Skully was #1. Feel like one of my uncles has died.
