I am truly surprised by the wide array of opinions on the topic. You should at least be proud that you have gotten people to think about the issues. However, on Medium African Americans, Africans, Black people do write about other topics. So much so I never can get to all of it. We (I am Black) write about sports, food, love, books, culture, and all sorts of other things. If you would like to see it, it's out there. I know because I write about it as do many people who I follow and who follow me. Yet, Black people do write about racism a lot. It is not our culture but if you are Black in America or anywhere, racism is real. It is in your life whether you like it or not. How you react to it is a choice and even by not writing about it, you are writing about it. If you are a serious writer it informs your own writing and it makes one make choice. An essay about making gumbo for example or cornbread is an essay about racism too. An essay about Lebron James, the famous NBA basketball player is about racism even if you never mention the word. I could explain that more deeply but the discussion here is truth telling. I think those responding have the answers and have provided the answer to the question.
