If It Quacks Like A Dictatorship…

Don’t believe your elected officials or the corporate media, believe your own eyes and ears

We are close to the point of no return now. Those boycotts and protest probably need to accelerate.

We are in dictatorship turf now. Something that will be in the history books if we don’t act collectively to grind things to a halt.

The exectuive order issued yesterday by Donald Trump is a power grab in that direction. It is a violation of separation of powers and is also an outright unconstitional attempt to legislate by a President. The order seizes control of independent executive agencies (SEC, FTC are two so named) without the passage of a new law. It also gives the President total control to legally interpret what the agencies do and makes them submit their proposed rules and regulations to the President beforehand.

I expected this point to arrive. The President is losing badly in court so he might as well try to push the courts even further out there in a tar pit.

This one might be headed for the U.S. Supreme Court or it could be a false alarm. Can a President change the status of a statutory created agency? Can a President change the power and independence of an independent agency? The President’s job is to “execute” the laws…
