Imperial Death Spiral #3
“And the beat goes on…”
These days, in the United States of America, the joke is over. It is not funny, absurd, or crazy to say that the country where you live and were born is in a death spiral. It is true. The thing is once the only people who were saying this in the 1970s and 1980s in America were dismissed as radicals.
You hire a person to run something, manage it, and they almost destroy it. When you fire them, they don’t peacefully leave the building. They recruit a mob to throw bricks at your company building, rush into it, and destroy things. When it finally calms down, you have a mess on your hands.
The new manager cleans up and gets things back on track but there is some pain. The new manager also makes some mistakes and should have found a replacement early on to hand off the company. He doesn’t and the guy who once managed the place comes around and says, I can fix this.
Imagine, the guy who f’d up everything can fix this? It’s a joke, right? Nope. The company hires that bum again to fix something that is back on track. He, on the other hand, is not. He is the same guy he has been for 50 years. So look out below as they say. A thousand air conditioners have fallen out of some high-rise buildings at noon in every major city. Look out below.
