The word on the streets in Washington D.C. aka “the DMV” if you believe in that metropolitan nonsense concept is Dan Snyder, owner of the Washington Commanders NFL franchise, is finally going to sell.

Praise be to God.

I cannot tell you what a spark this would put back in the franchise if he does sell the team. Here is how one news account broke it down:

“Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder has hired Bank of America to explore “potential transactions,” the team said Wednesday. The NFL team hired the bank to help facilitate a potential sale, according to a person familiar with the matter… A deal for the Commanders could value the team as much as $7 billion, the person said. Forbes valued the team at $5.6 billion in its annual team valuations list, making the franchise the sixth most valuable in the NFL.”

There is not much to say other than — please sell, Dan. If you do, every fan in town will sing “Danny Boy” on the day of the sale in front of your house to thank you for going away.

We will not thank you for destroying one of the league’s great franchises since you took over in 1999. We will not thank you for…
