Judicial politics

In 2013, the writer, Elie Mystal, in 2013 wrote this of Clarence Thomas:

“Thomas goes around trying to close opportunities he benefited from because he’s strangely embarrassed by receiving the opportunity. Thomas is bitter about his race. It’s actually Thomas that goes around “playing the race card” constantly. He brings up race where it doesn’t belong to disguise and confuse issues.”

Mystal’s also asserts that “Thomas is a guy who wants to believe that race has ruined his legacy.” According to Mystal, Thomas “wants to believe that he’s not loved because of the media and so-called “elites.”” Mystal thinks Thomas will be mostly remembered for his controversial confirmation hearings and not for any moment of judicial courage and great reflection.

I agree. And this week, Thomas again was heard complaining about the politics of the U.S. Supreme Court after the coming medieval abortion opinion was leaked to the public and outrage ensued.

Thomas, as I like to say, is an embarrassment.
