Last year, there were about 11,000 murders. Yet, there were nearly 3,000,000 criminal offenses. 3 million bro. Most people in prison are not in prison for murder. In fact, it is quite small. You can cherry pick your stats if you want but "mass incarceration" against people of color (which is the targeted arrests, prosecution, and incarceration) is real. They target certain offenders. I would think you would know this. Sure, there are economic reasons for higher rates of crime in impoverished areas but fact is, Blacks and Latinx and Native Americans are targeted. There are dozens of studies on this. To pick murders as proof Black people committ more crime is weak. That amount by the way is about 5000 murders total out of 3,000,000 offenses. You feel me? Here is one great report to read. There are a lot of these. You also might know that Black incarceration rates are down over the last 10 years; white rates are up. This is because of poverty. I say to you again - don't go for it. It is nonsense.
