bloodstains of a deer

I have always been haunted by the time I hit a deer on the highway in the middle of the night. The deer came out of nowhere and before I knew it, the deer was in my headlights. I tried to swerve but the whole episode happened too quickly.

I thought I would write about the unfortunate event. But never have I really thought much about it until now. I was on the highway again recently and remembered it because of what I saw on the road that night. But also, there was the beautiful farmland all around me.

Perhaps this is a beginning.
