On one of his most recent clandestine visits to see R. Kelly to talk turkey and prison life, Matt Gaetz encountered a curve ball. Harvey Weinstein called Kelly while Gaetz was at the prison trying to see Kelly.
Gaetz, the controversial U.S. congressmen, being investigated for sex trafficking, left quickly according to sources at the prison once Weinstein called.
Apparently, according to one of the guards, Weinstein has been calling Kelly much lately. Kelly also advised Weinstein by phone that Congressmen Gaetz has come to visit him from time to time.
Weinstein, according to the same guard, was perturbed that Gaetz is not in touch him as well.
“He just was wondering why Gaetz won’t visit him too, or at least call,” the prison guard said.
“That’s what Kelly said to me,” according to the guard.
When I got in touch with R. Kelly via phone directly he had a few things to say about his so called new friends.
“Look, I really don’t want to know either of them freaky dudes,” Kelly said. “I made my mistakes. They think this is some kind of solidarity thing. It ain’t. I don’t like interacting with they types truthfully.”
“How many times has Weinstein called you?”
“Plenty. At first he was calling all the time asking me shit like, they are gonna let us out, soon, right?”
“What did you tell him?”
“I told him to get some long books because it was gonna be a minute. The Koran. Don Quixote. Shit like that. Long ass books.”
Then I asked Kelly about Gaetz.
“Man, that dude is more phony than trap music. He talking about he came to see me to support me because he like my music. He don’t know my music.”
“Why do you say that?”
“He can’t even name five songs. All he know is ‘Bump and Grind’ really. Every time I ask him about my music he say — ‘Bump and Grind.’ I mean Harvey knows way more songs than him. Harvey and I could talk for hours about my music if you know, things was different.”
