My best friend in college did as well.

In 1999, I met a U.S. Army recruiter in my high school, near the end of the day. This may sound silly, but I did it for the flag, the pie, and the Fourth of July. I wanted to be a Soldier. Be, a Soldier. I served for twenty years and retired, and I have no regrets.

My best friend in college did as well. He also was motivated to get out of the projects of Baltimore. He served for like 30 years. Doing great.
