nonsense. It ignores class because CLS said it was always about class, everything can be reconciled through class. And CRT said, no it can’t. In America, there is race and class in our caste system (and others), and race is class, its own class. Sure, there are millions of whites living terrible here but it is not because they are white. It is because of capitalism, Which is why Black middle class homebuyers and customers still got predatory loans during the mortgage scam of 2000–2009, and white customers with poor credit, got better loans than them. Or, they had family members with wealth who could fix it for them with their own housing equity. CLS and CRT fell out over this point. Gary Peller, a white CRT scholar, says this all the time. Bernie Sanders got rejected by Black voters because of this point. Everything cannot be examined through the prism of just economic class in America because of white supremacy. It does exist. It is not the only thing but it is a thing that is inseparable from America’s history. Yes, America has played class warfare with Black Americans (Nixon was the best) but it doesn’t mean that racism is not an extra burden. It is. Derrick Bell was working class from Pittsburgh who worked his ass off to get the position he got into. He wasn’t generationally rich. He didn’t have wealth. He was a civil rights lawyer, most of his life.
