Really enjoyed this especially looking at Chappelle. I think Chappelle for me is the only one here who might work this out. I got respect for Dave. I am still betting on him to work through this like I did. I just did a lot of reading on transphobia and gender and I have a better understanding of this. As for Musk and Kanye, they are narcissists; I see very little chance they will figure it out. And I don't think they care. Dave is from a family of educators so I think one day he will figure out how to do his comedy and joke about whatever he wants but maintain respect too. Dick Gregory (the legendary Black comic) used to say when you make fun of any group of people you should be laughing with them not at them. Richard Pryor was the gold standard to this comedic approach. Comedians have to be allowed some space to me to figure things out. Richard Pryor, George Carlin, and many others had challenges like this but they didn't have to contend with social media too. There are all sorts of comedians who make fun of various groups of people & individuals today. The Asian guy on the Daily Show is another example. He crosses the line a lot. Stand up is a high wire act. It truly is tough to do it and has always been that way. The way people used to talk about Black people used to be like this. Black people were getting lynched and white people were making fun of us in blackface. Dave is going to have to figure it out. Otherwise, his rep is going to suffer. I am not sure why he brought Musk on stage. He don't need Musk. Maybe someone asked him to do that as a favor. Dave is from DC and he don't roll like that. He don't think he needs to rub elbows with rich people to be validated. I am sure it will be in his shows now as material. Again, this is a well thought out piece.
