Now, it’s time to do something for ordinary people

The Democrats will maintain control of the U.S. Senate. This means most of President Biden’s legislative achievements are mostly safe. Biden can also push his nominees to various agencies and federal judges.

He should also be able to get a few things done considering the Republicans have been politically kicked in the teeth. The Republicans had many things in their favor as the election of 2022 arrived. The economy was slowed. Interest rates are up. Inflation. Biden is sort of unpopular.

Yet, they really gained no ground. And they have no policies right now that help the ordinary American. Kevin McCarthy, their fearful leader, wants to hold stupid hearings to try to tear down the Democrats and Biden.

The GOP still doesn’t get it. You serve in Congress to govern not to score political points.

But it is time for the Democrats to step up. They aren’t back in power because they are awesome. They are in power because of unusual developments that aren’t permanent.

Here goes a bit of it:

• The Democrats are still partly in power because of the crazy abortion decision by the U.S. Supreme Court. It is a Court stacked by Republicans after a seat was stolen by the Republicans from Barack Obama;
