The Return Of Drunk Politics
Let the Citizen Beware (“Caveat Civis”)
It is that time again — drunk time.
Political power has shifted in Washington, D.C., and already we are about to go off a cliff. Man, the liquor stores and stock up on your rail liquor.
Is it another sequester? What will we call this one?
How about nothing? Nada.
But it goes like this. The GOP runs the House of Representatives. This is the body that controls the agenda, especially the fiscal agenda. But, the problem is when the Democrats ran the House, Pelosi cracked the whip like the new wave band, DEVO and her people got in line.
But now the GOP is in charge and they say, unless we get concessions, we will not raise the debt limit.
For the record, the debt limit is that ficticious but real legislative manuver that exists only because the U.S. borrows and borrows and borrows and borrows to keep the empire firing on all cylinders.
The Republicans say, if they don’t get like massive spending cuts, they won’t raise the ceiling or as it is described — the legal authority to borrow. It is utterly stupid, all of it. Hence, the photo. Because it is more than stupid. It’s drunk governance.
