The second amendment actually says the following:

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

I love how you misinform your readers by leaving out the "well regulated part." Almost every person who writes in support of the decision last week has done that. There is no need to amend the Constitution or to ban guns. We are a society who can decide things. But lets be honest. That amendment does not say you can own and possess any firearm anywhere anytime. It just doesn't. People are in favor of guns but they are also in favor of "universal background checks" and a well regulated firearms market. I see nothing wrong with that. That is my problem with the decision last week. It is overreach by the Court. They could have told NYC you went too far in your regulation. But they didn't do that. They basically made a mockery of the 2nd Amendment and the "regulated" part. It was a political opinion, not a legal one.
