The Supreme Court Is A Joke
The Trump ballot case is just more of the same absurdities
As lawyers say, let me be brief.
I didn’t expect the U.S. Supreme Court to actually kick Donald Trump off the ballot. I thought there would be tension and the Republican appointees would protect him. It is self evident that they will do so. But I also expected some strong push back from the three liberal justices. It never came. I was dumbfounded how the Court rolled over today for the Grifter.
The Court collectively came up with every reason they could today to do anything but follow the language of Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment that reads:
“No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof…”
