The threat of violence was important. Yes. The civil disobedience was important. Like August Wilson’s play Two Trains Running. That is my favorite play by him. He is saying Black people have never been violent or non violent. We believe in civil protest but also violence works. It always get enemies to seek a diplomatic solution. Yet, it’s an ongoing struggle.
