Until we dismantle the systems perpetuating racism, meaningless statements about colonialism being our past will continue to serve white supremacy. God forbid Canadians gain the humility to admit they might have blindspots to racial issues they’ve created and perpetuated for centuries — because you cannot see what you are not.
