This will always be the dilemma for Euro-American artists who wade into Black art in a serious way. It is on him. One example I guess is Bill Evans, the piano player, who has proven that he is and was the real deal as far as jazz is concerned. The Average White Band proved the same in the soul-funk genre for decades now and get mad respect from the Black world for their respect of Black music. I don't listen to Eminem enough to anoint him or dismiss him. I do think that joint, 'Stan' is a classic though. He found his moxie on that one, but other than that, I leave it to the more informed.
