No God but God
I believe in God. A higher power. I do not and will not profess to know “what” that is. I am fine with that. I have to be fine with that.
Recently, I read that in the U.S. only 3 percent of the population was atheist. In France, a country associated with atheism, 30 percent of the population is said to be atheist. I was surprised. I was also surprised that in the U.S. it is only 3 percent.
For the record, Vietnam is allgedly at 80 percent. Denmark and Norway are high as well. Russia is only 13 percent.
I have many friends who are atheist. They do not ram their beliefs down my throat or down anyone’s throat either. They have said it and will say it though.
I do not think any differently of them because they are atheist. In fact, my atheist friends and acquaintances have been a bright light for me. They have made me ask myself what do I believe.
They have, in fact, made me a stronger believer in God, a higher power, or the divine. They have fortified my own beliefs and respect them even more for theirs.
