"History will absolve me." - Castro. History can never absolve Kissinger. Castro I think like most leaders of his stature is a mixed bag of greatness and controversy. He has been absolved (at least to me).

The other quote is from Gil Scott Heron - "may he rest in pieces"

Scott-Heron once wrote of one of the Nixon era rats. When Kissinger died (and Rush Limbaugh), I said the same of both of them. Kissinger was responsible for the deaths of millions. Limbaugh was just a horrible human being to me who got rich spewing hate from the radio for like 30 years. Thanks for this piece. May they rest in pieces. They deserve no kind words. They had their chance to say you know, what I am doing is evil.

Sandra Day O'Connor died today. I am a lawyer and one who watched her career from start to finish. I have great respect for her even though we didn't agree on much. She is getting a proper tribute today.
