Student protests against South Africa, 1970s — George Washington University Archives

The schools belong to the children. The young people. Our students. Our babies. Has Biden lost his mind? Have these college presidents lost their minds? Have supporters of Israel’s destruction, demolition, and depravity in Gaza lost their minds? Let them speak!! Dissent ! What are we afraid of?

Our children, the students we are seeing get arrested on college campuses, are accumulating huge debts to attend college. They are investors in American education. They are, in fact, owners. This is what makes the attacks upon them so sick. We barely help them pay for their education anymore. We let the neoliberals rip up the social contract and force feed the masses this notion of ‘pay to play’ higher education. If you don’t have any money, you don’t get a chance at an education. That is class warfare.

Our children, the young people, should be able to speak openly on their campuses. Instead, nearly 1000 students at various universities have been arrested for protesting.
