Why Are Corporate News Outlets Covering Trump Again?

The Daily Show’s latest episode featuring Jon Stewart is an instant classic. He is again pointing out how the multinational corporate media outlets continue to cover Trump wire to wire. Trump is on trial in New York City for violations of campaign financing laws and it is being covered comprehensively by these outlets (CNN, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, CBS). PBS devotes time to it as does NPR. It is pretty sickening.
Should news outlets report on a trial of an ex-President charged with crimes? Sure. But as Stewart notes, the coverage is dumb and wasteful. It is not journalism. It is not in the public interest.

Dangers loom ahead
We have been over this before. In 2016, when Trump won the presidency, the networks covered him like he was not what he is: a Grifter. Or as I like to say — a person with very questionable morals, ethics, values, and in fact, not one redeeming quality that serves the public interest. He thinks the public should serve him; he is not a public servant. He wasn’t in 2016 and he is not now. He is also more dangerous now because he is potentially facing prison. He has to win…
