“Trump properties in Atlantic City filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 1991, including the Trump Taj Mahal; Trump Hotels and Casinos Resorts joined in 2004, and Trump Entertainment Resorts in 2009. The President, then a real estate developer, cut ties with the resort in 2009, but his name temporarily remained on his casino properties. It was later removed.”
The missing lights in the above photo are a metaphor for America under Trump. It is in decline. Yet, he is going to push the car off the cliff after it ran out of gas on the highway. This is what he does. This is his real record, and anyone except MAGA true believers knows this.
There is no tariff-trade war miracle coming. There is no capitulation by China, Vietnam, or other countries. Those countries are not run perfectly, but they are run properly. America is not governed properly at all.
Our landing in the post-American dominance period can be soft and responsible, but that is unlikely. One man and a bunch of his loyal goons have decided they are going to try to turn back time and go back to the 19th century. The time of William McKinley, tariffs, recession, gross economic inequality, manifest destiny, and American dominance. It won’t happen. Count on it.
