Yes. Mindy. It helped me to understand a lot of things. My boyhood neighborhood before my parents moved in was 100 percent Jewish. I never even knew they were Jewish until decades later after they were all gone. Blacks began moving in and for awhile it worked. But then, most of the Jewish families departed. A few stayed behind and we used to help the older widowed Jewish women with their trash and their yards and stuff. I think when a Jewish shopkeeper was shot in his store and killed, that was the last straw. But the assailant wasn't from the neighborhood. And that's it as Baldwin said - I never saw them as Jewish. I had no idea. They were just White. I never got treated badly. My father, in fact, had great rapport them all. But I met one person years later and he said, yes, those were all Jewish families. I had no idea. None.
